Regional systems integrator and reseller Raqmiyat has announced that it will be offering secure work from home solutions from Sentrybay, an internet data security software solutions provider, in the UAE.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in widespread extended requirements for staff to work from home. However, ‘Work-from-home’ (WFH) practices can lead to huge data security and data pilferage risks as perpetrators can compromise unmanaged end-user owned remote desktops/PCs/laptops that are used as endpoints by the workforce and external partners.
“During these challenging times, organisations struggle to provide secure work-from-home solutions. As an authorised reseller of Sentrybay, we are providing secured work-from-home solutions to help our customers not compromise their security posture,” said Abhijit Mahadik, Director, Cybersecurity solutions at Raqmiyat.
Employees’ unmanaged devices pose a higher risk for stolen sensitive data (including corporate credentials) from attacks involving keylogging, which, along with spyware is ranked the highest global malware by the NTT Security Threat Intelligence Report.
Other attacks to be wary of include screen-capture/screen-grabbing, man-in-the-browser, saved account detail harvesting, screen-mirroring, man-in-the-middle, DLL injection and RDP double-hop. During the coronavirus crisis, these risks are exponentially much higher.
A VPN service is usually deployed to connect remote devices to corporate networks. It is critical to note that a VPN does not protect users from malware that records keystrokes or takes pictures and videos of the user’s endpoint in order to steal data. These kind of malware have the capacity to scrape up passwords, credit card and banking information, personal details, and more, to use in identity theft and other malicious deeds. All this information can be stolen by cybercriminals before it enters the VPN tunnel.
Usually, customers end up looking for products that can be deployed quickly (i.e. within 24 hours) and which do not involve specially configured software or hardware. A simple ‘download and install’ from pre-configured software is the preferred option. Rarely do individuals think about selecting a proven anti-keylogging software that can protect every keystroke into any application and prevent screen-scraping malware from stealing credentials and sensitive corporate data.
SentryBay prioritises data security and uses patented technology of anti-keyloggers and anti-screen captures to safeguard customers’ endpoints.
The Armoured Browser from SentryBay provides a unique and secured browser on Mac and Windows that offers anti-key logging, anti-screen capture and anti-screen scrap features. This enables a secured browsing environment for customers to carry out sensitive work without being worried about any breaches.
“We have experienced a huge surge in demand worldwide, especially in the UAE for this niche solution from Sentrybay. Some of our largest banking clients have added licenses in the past week, specifically to enable more employees to work from home,” said Marcus Whittington, Co-founder and COO, Sentrybay.
Additionally, Armoured Browser creates separate user and desktop sessions without leaving any trace upon closing. With the latest enhancements, it can be installed as a pseudo-remote access solution to lock down the use of, for example, Office365/ SaaS apps/ browsing and so on. It can also be deployed for Citrix, VMware or for any other remote access solution that has been installed.
