Polycom has announced a host of new enhancements, including additional features for its flagship Polycom Trio, a secure guest access capability on Polycom Pano, and the extension of the company’s partnership with Zoom to launch Polycom Zoom Rooms.
Polycom Trio will work with Polycom’s video CODECs in addition to today’s VisualPlus, opening the door to video conferencing capabilities previously reserved for larger rooms, such as the facial tracking feature found in Polycom EagleEye Director II and Polycom EagleEye Producer. Polycom Trio will also be able to offer an optimised room experience with dual monitor support, enhanced audio coverage with ceiling-mounted microphones, and improved HDMI connectivity. With no need for additional remote controls, Polycom Trio’s touch screen becomes the only interface needed to manage call volume, camera zoom, and more.
“Customers have higher expectations than ever before for meeting rooms—they want every meeting space to be a true collaboration center with simple voice, video, and content sharing,” says Mary McDowell, Polycom CEO. “Polycom continues to lead the way with Polycom Trio, making it the simplest way for our customers to connect, communicate, and be productive.”
The new functionalities will be supported by software updates to Polycom Trio and Polycom’s Group Series CODECs, available from July.
Polycom Pano will now feature a ’guest access’ to allow business consultants, customers, partners, or contractors to connect and share content through a secure guest WI-FI network. The Polycom Pano will run on a second wireless network and operate in ‘receive-only’ mode ensuring the highest level of security, allowing meeting attendees to confidently connect and share with a single touch. Polycom Pano supports up to four devices simultaneously and allows users to share presentations, documents, videos, and images with ease, whilst offering the ability to annotate files with its infinite whiteboard feature.
The Polycom Pano update will be released in July.
Polycom has also enhanced its partnership with Zoom to offer customers the best Zoom experience through the its premier Polycom Trio conference ‘smart phone’, and to support Zoom Rooms on Polycom’s audio and video solutions. The new Polycom Zoom Rooms solution is available in three packages, suitable for all business needs, from huddle spaces to large meeting rooms. As part of the package, users can operate the Polycom Trio, whilst running the Zoom controller UI natively, creating the full Zoom Rooms control experience.
