McAfee has announced a range of new innovations to MVISION with the availability of Unified Cloud Edge.
These new updates include protecting enterprise data across devices, web and the cloud; Cloud Native Infrastructure Security, which helps organisations protect the entire infrastructure and application stack of cloud-native applications; a global Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offering; and accelerated partner momentum.
The McAfee MVISION platform builds upon two foundational pillars — MVISION Cloud and MVISION Endpoint, said the firm.
MVISION Cloud consists of Unified Cloud Edge which protects data as it leaves the device, travels to and from the cloud and within Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud services; and Cloud Native Infrastructure Security, designed to secure the full stack of cloud native applications including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and container environments. Together, they enhance and simplify security by providing a core set of common security services that are cloud native, unified and open.
“By bringing data protection, threat prevention, governance and compliance in one cloud native, unified and open platform, MVISION delivers better security, faster time to deployment, and lower cost of ownership so that security professionals can focus on the task at hand without wasting time integrating disparate point security products,” said Rajiv Gupta, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Security, McAfee. “The recently released MVISION innovations are further proof of McAfee’s commitment to make cloud the most secure environment for business.”
MVISION Endpoint
McAfee also announced the launch of a global MDR offering, whereby DXC Technology will be McAfee’s first strategic MDR partner to leverage McAfee’s MVISION EDR solution to proactively detect cyber threats faced by customers and resolve security incidents faster.
Unified Cloud Edge
Available by the end of March, MVISION Unified Cloud Edge is the industry’s first unified cloud security platform to deliver Secure Access Service Edge with data security and threat prevention policies that consistently extend to the device. McAfee also plans to integrate browser isolation technology into MVISION Unified Cloud Edge thanks to McAfee’s definitive agreement to acquire Light Point Security, LLC, an award-winning pioneer of browser isolation.
MVISION Unified Cloud Edge brings together the capabilities of McAfee’s Cloud Access Security Broker product, McAfee Web Gateway, and McAfee Data Loss Prevention offerings — all consistently managed by MVISION ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) — to deliver a unified environment to create and enforce data security and threat protection policies in the cloud, on the web and on the device.
Cloud Native Infrastructure Security
Available now, Cloud Native Infrastructure Security includes Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP) and Container Security technologies integrated into one security management experience, delivering the broadest set of capabilities available for securing multi-cloud, IaaS / PaaS and hybrid cloud environments. McAfee’s Cloud Native Infrastructure Security provides a unified solution to protect against configuration drift and vulnerabilities across all forms of cloud native workloads — VMs, containers and serverless–to pre-emptively improve compliance using “shift-left” capabilities and protect sensitive data stored within cloud-native applications.
MVISION Security Advisor
MVISION is the first and only cloud security platform to feature Cloud Security Advisor which objectively proves to enterprises the true value of their cloud security investment and provides them with their cloud security maturity score including trending over time and comparison against peers in the industry. Most importantly, Cloud Security Advisor includes a set of adaptive and prescriptive recommendations based on industry best practices to help customers improve their cloud security maturity.
Open Ecosystem
The MVISION Platform Partner Program continues to grow with the announcement of seven new certified integrations to its McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) and McAfee CASB Connect Program. The Program offers organisations a competitive advantage when it comes to securing people, devices and data in the cloud.
