At GITEX Technology Week 2020, Imperva, the cybersecurity software and services company, put the spotlight on its latest offerings, recent acquisition of all-in-one database security platform business jSonar and trends to shape the New Year.
Spencer Young, Regional Vice President (RVP), EMEA, Imperva, said, “We have made significant investments in this year, which will drive our plans for 2021. At GITEX this year, we are proud to highlight our recent acquisition of jSonar. This was a significant milestone for us as it positively impacts our overall data and application security business. The acquisition allows our customers as well as us the ability to monitor and protect over 60 out-of-the-box database types that companies cannot monitor today. Additionally, as jSonar technology boasts agentless approach, customers can deploy and scale database security implementations effortlessly. We are very excited about this acquisition and look forward to offering innovations to our regional customers jointly.”
According to Young, with the jSonar acquisition, Imperva now has a “real breadth and depth” to its overall platform. “We are no longer thinking of ourselves as a point product type of organisation. We have a data and application security platform that solves significant business challenges for our customers. And this is our positioning in the market today – stepping up and taking advantage of all the consolidation of vendors that is taking place in the marketplace today.”
For example, Imperva’s application security portfolio can replace five individual point type solutions that exist today, said the RVP.
“We know CTOs and customers want to reduce the number of vendors they work with because it is unmanageable for them. Imperva has a robust and comprehensive set of offerings in this regard.”
Speaking about trends that will dominate 2021, Young said cloud transformation will continue to be a priority for most businesses as we enter into the New Year.
“One of the barriers to cloud transformation has been the ability to achieve the same level of security controls as one would on-premise or in a data centre. With Imperva’s cloud data security platform, we are able to assist those customers to accelerate their cloud transformations. This will continue to drive business agendas and activities in 2021-2022,” he concluded.
