Gartner has announced that it is cancelling its annual global IT Symposium/Xpo, which was scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE from 2 -4 March, 2020, over the increasing concerns about the Coronavirus outbreak that has impacted the world.
The organiser released a statement, which said, “Due to ongoing concerns about the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Gartner has decided to cancel IT Symposium/Xpo.
“Ensuring the health and safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we believe this is the right decision given the evolving public health risks.”
Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo is a technology conference that takes place in Dubai where industry leaders convene together to discover superior content, share insights and have networking opportunities that are focused on turning the latest in technology and business strategy into action. The event usually attracts 700 plus CIOs and IT leaders, over 25 solution providers and more than 30 Gartner experts.
The statement also said that the organisers have reached out to all registered attendees, exhibitors and partners with details about their individual situations.

Recently, GSMA, the organiser of Mobile World Congress, also cancelled this year’s show for the first time in its history due to Coronavirus concerns.
