What are you demonstrating at Intersec this year?
Intersec is a flagship event for Eviden. In this particular event, we are showcasing our flagship product called Ipsotek, which is advanced video analytics software. It is an AI-powered analytics platform designed to analyse video feeds in real-time. It uses sophisticated algorithms and machine learning to provide insights and actionable information from video data.
In addition to this, we are showcasing hardware capabilities that can host the Ipsotek AI platform. Furthermore, we are highlighting the measures we take to secure these capabilities, utilising cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions such as encryption, artificial intelligence, and MDR capabilities, among others.
How does this platform address current challenges in security and surveillance?
As you are aware, security always remains a top priority, whether it’s for the government or private sector, especially given the geopolitical challenges the region is currently experiencing. Both governments and companies face the challenge of moving beyond traditional security measures; they require intelligent security solutions. AI has undoubtedly become a prevalent buzzword, but in our case, Ipsotek was founded with AI as its foundational technology. This means we have already integrated AI into our use cases, allowing customers and businesses to implement it easily. This includes analytics from day one, incorporating AI-based use cases such as geofencing, perimeter monitoring, abandoned object detection at airports, facial recognition, and license plate recognition. However, the primary challenge that businesses encounter is how to effectively interpret and utilise the insights derived from these analytics.
While AI may be integrated into various aspects of the operations, the fundamental question remains: how can one extract more meaningful insights? This is where our expertise comes in. Our solution introduces a distinctive advantage by offering highly adaptable dashboards, allowing for precise customisation according to one’s specific needs and preferences. This customisation goes beyond addressing security concerns; it extends to gaining deeper insights into business operations. Consider, for instance, a retail establishment that has already deployed surveillance cameras primarily for security purposes. Through the utilization of our AI-powered system, capabilities extend beyond mere theft monitoring. Instead, the system provides the ability to customize dashboards, facilitating detailed scrutiny and understanding of customer behaviour with precision.
Gain insights into customer behaviour by identifying areas of interest and potential avoidance. Enhance your advertising strategy and optimise stock placement within aisles. Additionally, analyse checkout times to improve the overall checkout experience. These are the kinds of customisations and functionalities we offer, addressing the significant challenges our customers face when utilising our suite of software and hardware solutions.
From your point of view, which significant trends do you observe in the security and surveillance industry that are gaining prominence?
The predominant trend we are witnessing today is the widespread adoption of AI; it seems to be everywhere. However, with this surge in AI usage, there is a growing concern about its overuse. For instance, we come across AI-embedded cameras, AI-embedded software, and AI-embedded hardware in various applications.
While AI is undoubtedly a prevailing trend, we are also mindful of the need for prudent usage. At times, we find ourselves serving as consultants, offering guidance to customers on when AI is the appropriate solution and when it might not be. In certain cases, integrating AI-embedded cameras may not align with a customer’s specific needs or objectives. This awareness is shaping the current direction of the market.
