To celebrate the end of the holy month, du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (EITC), will provide complementary higher-speed WiFi for seven days at over 400 hot spot locations across the UAE. From 12 June to 18 June, free WiFi supplied by WiFi UAE will operate 10 times faster at no additional cost.
“du has always held the belief that connectivity is a basic human right, and this was the premise for our WiFi UAE roll out across the Emirates. By offering clear and reliable services, we are empowering people from all walks of life to connect more and enhance communications with their loved ones during this special period,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Telco Services, EITC. “The initiative of providing complimentary higher speed WIFI this Eid is yet another demonstration of our staunch support of the UAE government in achieving country-wide WiFi access in line with the nations Vision 2021.”
This latest initiative falls under the umbrella of #KeepOnGiving, du’s Ramadan campaign which encourages people to do something for their community this Ramadan. In addition to providing free higher-speed WiFi, du is offering WiFi UAE at six mosques throughout the Emirates. The telco also launched a moving Ramadan show that enabled several family reunions to take place after a long period of two years apart.
Finally, du continues to #KeepOnGiving through its annual Mawaed Al Rahman initiative, which brings together UAE residents, citizens and corporations to pack essential Ramadan food items into reusable, environmentally friendly boxes for families in need throughout Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
