The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) has used Avaya technology for an advanced communications deployment.
The governing body of football in Bahrain, the BFA, this year required an upgrade to its telecommunications services, which are consumed by over 100 employees. With a focus on remote working, enabling bring-your-own-device policies (BYOD), and security, the organisation found the win in an intelligent solution from Avaya.
That solution, delivered by Fakhro Electronics, an Avaya Diamond partner, came in the form of Avaya’s advanced telephony and communications technologies, and the latest Avaya Desktop Experience devices. This included Vantage K155, the industry’s only customisable desktop device that provides the advantages of a deskphone and the flexibility of an application platform.
“We had to provide the latest intelligent communications platform, enabling users to communicate remotely while maintaining security over every type of device – including desk phones and software-based phones. We also wanted to allow our executives to use video calls, which is easy with the Vantage device,” said Majdi Aldoseri, Head of Technology Support and ICT, Bahrain Football Association.
“For everyone else, the Avaya communications application supports video conferencing for all types of devices and operating systems, including smartphones, and enables a security layer for secure voice and video communications.”
The application, Avaya IX Workplace, delivers an unforgettable communications experience that works as well on a browser, mobile device or room-based system as it does on the desktop. Its user friendliness was a key benefit for the BFA, as it would enable employee and executive buy-in. The application allows users to easily access their contact lists, click to call, start a video session or schedule and join a meeting—all from the same familiar and intuitive user interface available across devices, from any location.
The underlying platform, meanwhile, delivers telephony with comprehensive features for any size business. It can be delivered through the cloud, and adapts to evolving business needs because it is built on open platforms and can be developed on without needing upgrades.
Indeed, that aspect was particularly attractive to the BFA, which also wanted a solution that could help keep costs down.
“One of our key requirements was an ability to control costs related to the telephony. Since deploying, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in the communications and a reduction in the cost,” said Aldoseri.
And while Avaya’s platforms are compatible with any device, the BFA saw the combination of the solution and Avaya’s devices as a winning team, opting for Avaya J139 IP desktop phones for in-office employees.
“By bringing a top-flight user experience to the BFA, Avaya and its partner Fakhro Electronics has enabled the organisation to take full advantage of rich feature sets. We look forward to continuing to help the BFA improve its communications and adding even greater value to its business,” said Samer Sarraf, Territory Manager, Kuwait and Bahrain, Avaya.
Going forward, the BFA plans to continue investing in awareness around Avaya’s products and solutions, particularly when it comes to video conferencing and virtual huddle rooms.
