The Abu Dhabi Government has signed a landmark agreement with Microsoft and Core42, a G42 company, to establish a sovereign cloud computing environment aimed at enhancing government service delivery. The collaboration will support the emirate’s goal of becoming the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027.
The sovereign cloud will process over 11 million daily digital interactions across government entities, citizens, residents, and businesses. This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi’s commitment to automating 100 per cent of its government processes under the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, backed by a $3.54 billion investment in digital infrastructure.
More than 200 AI-driven solutions will be deployed to improve operational efficiency, enhance public service accessibility, and contribute to sustainability. TAMM 3.0, the government’s all-in-one services platform, has already demonstrated success by reducing offline visits by 90 per cent and making 73 per cent of transactions instantaneous.
Microsoft’s cloud technologies and G42’s AI infrastructure will ensure data sovereignty and accelerate AI adoption across government services. This strategic partnership underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to leveraging technology for a more efficient, transparent, and responsive government, setting a global benchmark for digital transformation.
