How is your company leveraging AI to deliver greater value to enterprises?
AI isn’t the future, it’s the present, and it’s being used everywhere, for good and bad. Generative-AI-as-a-service offerings, such as FraudGPT and WormGPT, are already available on the cybercrime underground. The commodification of AI cyber capabilities can grant cybercriminals the ability to launch an increasing volume of sophisticated ransomware attacks, threatening to stretch beleaguered security teams further.
At Rubrik, our cloud architecture and AI-powered solutions aim to enhance the protection and recovery of sensitive information, which is critical as cyber threats become more sophisticated. We have machine learning algorithms that continuously analyse backup snapshots for unusual activity, helping identify potential threats before they escalate into significant issues. We also leverage AI to facilitate rapid recovery from attacks by enabling organisations to search for specific data points and restore them efficiently.
Last year we introduced Ruby, the generative AI companion for Rubrik Security Cloud designed to speed cyber detection, cyber recovery, and cyber resilience. Rubrik leverages Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI, in combination with its machine learning-driven Data Threat Engine, to help discover, investigate, remediate, and report on cyber incidents.
Through our AI-powered services, we aim to support enterprises to enhance protection against ransomware and have a centralised data protection strategy. This comprehensive approach not only protects sensitive information but also enhances overall organisational resilience in the face of evolving cyber risks.
How is your organisation contributing to shaping the ‘Future AI Economy’?
AI is significantly transforming the global economy. AI is projected to contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy in 2030. In the Middle East, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, in particular, have demonstrated strong commitment towards the development and implementation of AI technologies. It is estimated that the Middle East will accrue 2% of the total global benefits of AI in 2030, which is equivalent to US$320 billion. [1]
Rubrik is constantly investing in AI, contributing to the growth of the regional and global economy. In developing AI-powered tools, we aim to prioritise our customers’ business security above everything else. For example, as we developed Rubrik’s Ruby, our primary focus was saving time for our customers to investigate and remediate security issues found in their systems through our platform. Traditionally, these investigations can take an IT or security operations person countless hours and a lot of back and forth with other internal teams to complete. By providing a guided and conversational workflow, Ruby aims to reduce the time needed to resolve the issue.
Through providing robust AI-driven cybersecurity solutions, we ensure enhancing organisational resilience, while contributing to the broader AI economy.
What cutting-edge technologies is your company showcasing at GITEX GLOBAL 2024?
We were delighted to take part in GITEX Global this year, which provided a platform for showcasing our innovative products and demonstrating how they are reshaping the future of data protection and cyber resilience.
In an increasingly dangerous threat landscape, we showed our visitors how Rubrik’s ransomware recovery solutions minimise downtime and help businesses bounce back quickly.
Rubrik’s platform enables organisations to understand and minimise the damage of cyberattacks. By combining data security and cyber recovery capabilities, we deliver complete cyber resilience. We also offer the first and only tool of its kind that serves both security and IT teams and drives the internal collaboration required to fight back against destructive attacks on data. We are continuing to roll out new solutions that work across all environments – SaaS, Cloud and on-prem – Cloud being a priority.
How does your company’s presence at GITEX align with your long-term vision?
Rubrik is on a mission to secure the world’s data while helping organisations achieve business resilience against cyberattacks, malicious insiders, and operational disruptions. Our presence at GITEX allowed us to present our latest technologies in the field and reinforce our position as a leader in cybersecurity.
GITEX also provided a great opportunity to network with clients, partners, and stakeholders. This is important for keeping up with the latest industry trends in the UAE and the region and adapting our products to best support local and regional enterprises.
