Manoj Ganapathy, Divisional Manager of Jacky’s Business Solutions, delves into their ongoing partnership with Samsung and how AI is transforming enterprise mobility,
What is Jacky’s highlighting at this year’s GITEX GLOBAL?
This is our second year partnering with Samsung, and at this exhibition, we are primarily showcasing the Samsung ecosystem. We’re focused on their mobility division, presenting a range of products including rugged devices, flagship AI models, Samsung Knox (MDM solution), Grabba solutions for KYC, and various mounting solutions. Together, these offerings provide a comprehensive 360-degree view of Samsung’s mobility solutions.
Could you give us some background on your partnership with Samsung? What motivated this collaboration?
We’ve been long-time partners with Samsung, primarily in the retail sector, as one of their retail franchise partners. A few years ago, we expanded this partnership to include Samsung’s enterprise division due to the growing demand for enterprise mobility solutions.
Many enterprises today need customised solutions for managing devices, employee profiles, and workflows. For example, businesses want to ensure that personal apps, like social media, aren’t accessible during office hours but can be used after hours. Enterprises also need to send alerts, notifications, and manage device settings remotely.
Additionally, we have a partnership with an Australian company called Grabba, which provides specialised cases for Samsung devices. These cases are used for KYC (Know Your Customer) solutions in sectors like banking, telecom, border security, and government departments. These devices enable things like fingerprint verification, passport scanning, and Emirates ID verification, all in a compact, mobile format. This has made it much easier for enterprises to adopt such technologies, which was one of the key motivators behind our collaboration.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a major theme this year at GITEX GLOBAL. How is Jacky’s leveraging AI to provide more value to your customers?
AI is an area where Samsung is really leading the charge, especially with their new flagship models that come equipped with AI capabilities. One of the most useful features is the real-time translation service, which is incredibly helpful in a city like Dubai where people from all over the world come to live and work. For example, an Arabic speaker and an English speaker can communicate seamlessly using their devices, with real-time translation converting the conversation between both languages.
Another AI-powered feature is the automatic note-taking capability. You can attend a business meeting, take notes on your phone, and at the end of the session, the device can summarise the minutes of the meeting for you. It’s a real productivity booster. Additionally, AI can identify objects—simply take a picture, and the system can provide you with detailed information about that item.
Samsung’s enterprise models also come with Knox MDM built-in, offering advanced mobile device management, a five-year service lifecycle, and a two-year warranty. This makes them an attractive option for enterprises looking to streamline their operations.
Looking toward the future, what is your vision for AI, especially considering the theme of future AI at GITEX GLOBAL this year?
While our partnership with Samsung is a key part of our AI strategy, Jacky’s Business Solutions is also heavily invested in robotic solutions. We offer a wide variety of robots for different use cases. These include humanoid robots that can act as personal assistants, food delivery robots, housekeeping robots, warehouse automation robots, and even robots designed for building maintenance, such as facade cleaning.
Looking forward, we see a future where robotic hardware and human workers will collaborate more closely. It’s about creating synergy between people and machines to enhance productivity and efficiency across industries.
