Oracle announced new AI-powered products and capabilities for enterprises, application development, and data intelligence at Oracle CloudWorld 2024 in Las Vegas. These innovations are aimed at accelerating digital transformation by enabling developers to build sophisticated applications, enhance productivity, and extract greater value from data assets.
1. Generative Development (GenDev) for Enterprises: Oracle introduced GenDev, an AI-centric application development infrastructure leveraging Oracle Database 23ai technologies. GenDev enables developers to rapidly create advanced applications using AI-powered interfaces and human-centric data while ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. It incorporates Oracle’s converged data engine, Database 23ai, which supports various data types and workloads. This infrastructure allows developers to focus on application functionality by handling data complexity at the data layer and enforcing data rules, such as intent and confidentiality, directly within the data engine.
2. Oracle Code Assist and OCI Kubernetes Enhancements: Oracle also announced new capabilities to speed up application development on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Oracle Code Assist, now in beta, is an AI code companion integrated with JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA and Microsoft Visual Studio Code. It provides developers with intelligent suggestions and boosts productivity in coding tasks. Additionally, enhancements to OCI Kubernetes Engine (OKE) allow organisations to train and deploy AI models at scale, optimising AI workloads.
3. AI-Powered Features for Fusion Data Intelligence: Oracle introduced new AI capabilities for Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence to help organisations derive maximum value from their data assets. New intelligent applications like the People Leader Workbench and Supply Chain Command Center for Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and SCM aim to provide actionable insights beyond traditional analytics, helping organisations make smarter decisions faster. These tools are built to overcome data silos and offer a connected view of organisational data for rapid action.
These announcements reflect Oracle’s strategy to harness AI for developing smarter applications and enhancing data-driven decision-making.
