Fortinet has announced significant enhancements to its Unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution, adding sovereign SASE and generative AI (GenAI) capabilities. Fortinet Unified SASE seamlessly integrates Secure SD-WAN and cloud-delivered Security Service Edge (SSE) under a single console, offering simplified management, visibility, and robust security. The new updates reflect Fortinet’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and highly flexible SASE solution.
John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer at Fortinet, said “Many vendors today are packaging up fragmented SASE capabilities and calling it ‘unified SASE.’ Fortinet is the only vendor with a unified SASE solution united by one data lake, one operating system, and AI-driven security that also offers customers unparalleled deployment flexibility. Not only are we offering a truly integrated solution, but we’re also adding more flexibility and simplicity with the introduction of sovereign SASE and new generative AI features.”
The introduction of sovereign SASE addresses the growing demand for data and cloud sovereignty, particularly in regulated industries such as finance, government, and healthcare. Fortinet’s Sovereign SASE allows organisations to maintain local control over data routing, security inspections, and log storage, enhancing data privacy, compliance, and flexibility.
Additionally, Fortinet has integrated FortiAI, a generative AI assistant, into its Secure SD-WAN, bringing the power of GenAI to Unified SASE. This integration supports IT and cybersecurity staff by improving decision-making processes and streamlining SD-WAN management, resulting in faster deployment and more efficient operations.
Fortinet’s commitment to continuous innovation is evident in its monthly updates to the Unified SASE solution. Recent enhancements include remote browser isolation (RBI), improved network performance for autonomous SD-WAN networks, and streamlined management with native SCIM support. These updates ensure that organisations can adapt to changing needs while staying ahead of cyber threats, reinforcing Fortinet’s position as a leader in the SASE market.
