IFS, the global cloud enterprise software company has announced the appointment of Markus Persson as Global Industry Director for telecommunications. Persson joins IFS from the Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications company, Ericsson, having worked on the strategic direction of their OSS/BSS portfolio for more than 20 years. Bringing with him a wealth of industry experience, Persson will be responsible for driving IFS’s further growth in the sector by working closely with the global sales team on existing and future opportunities.
Currently, 100,000 telco engineers are supported by IFS Service Management. The appointment of Markus Persson will continue to forge growth in the telecommunications sector and expand IFS’s team of experts that truly understands field service and industry use cases.
In 2022 alone, IFS boasted huge success in its Service Management unit, including being positioned as a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader for the 7th consecutive time for Field Service Management. Further to this, through IFS’s breadth of innovation in service management, the company has continued its revenue growth with 105% YOY service management license revenues increase.
Adding to the business unit’s success, the appointment follows a sequence of significant recent wins in the telecommunications industry, including leading operators and infrastructure providers in Belgium, France, Sweden, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Germany.
One of the latest wins for the business unit includes Proximus, the leading telecom operator in Belgium. Proximus selected IFS to strengthen its field workforce and deliver higher levels of efficiency, using AI to optimise planning and workforce scheduling.
Marne Martin, President of Service Management, EAM and Industries at IFS, comments, “We welcome Markus to the IFS team at a significant point in our growth in the industry and look forward to adding his depth of knowledge, skill and expertise to our global team. Rising customer expectations, shifting business models and disruptive competitors have made service a key component and differentiator for future success and growth in the telecommunications sector. The ongoing march of technology creates myriad opportunities for ambitious telcos, and we are excited to support them in their business transformation journey”.
Markus Persson commented, “Unlike other vendors, IFS offer a single platform that enables organisations to manage the full-service lifecycle, including intensive asset management and complex workforce management. The breadth and depth of their solution offering is well placed for the telco industry and is proven by their significant business success in the sector in recent years. I am excited to join the global team not only to help further their success with new business wins, but to also guide and help existing customers to greater success in an ever evolving and fast-paced industry”.
IFS is recognised for its deep industry expertise, including a track record of digital transformation for organisations focused on complex service. IFS is the only Leader in both the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Field Service Management (FSM) and the IDC MarketScape for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
