GISEC 2020, co-located with GITEX Technology Week taking place this week, highlights key trends and innovations in the regional cybersecurity landscape. As the official distribution partner of the event, Spire Solutions, an industry-leading information and cybersecurity solutions provider in the MENA region, is showcasing its latest offerings to help customers solve their cybersecurity challenges. At the show today, the pioneering distributor also offered attendees an opportunity to interact closely with the celebrated ethical hacker and cybersecurity expert Bryan Seely by hosting the book signing of his world-renowned book – Cyber Fraud – The Web of Lies.
Drawing from his unique and exciting experiences as the only person to wiretap the US Secret Service and the FBI, Seely shared in-depth insights into social engineering in his keynote address at the show.
Speaking at the book signing at Spire Stand in Hall 1 at GISEC 2020, Seely said, “The book is an interesting story of one person going up against Google and why it actually happened. The book exposes different kinds of scams that is true for not only one country but all over the world. While some people have praised the book, I have also received death threats. It is definitely worth a read.”
He also added, “I am aligned with Spire Solutions in a way that we want to think about what we are doing to a level that doesn’t create new problems. Often, people hastily create some things or get into collaborations while causing a whole bunch of new problems in the meantime. Thoughtful companies that think multiple moves ahead like a chess game are the people I like to work with, and Spire Solutions is one such organisation.”
Sanjeev Walia, President and CEO, Spire Solutions, said, “We pride ourselves in being in the business of solving cybersecurity problems without creating any new ones. Bryan’s book speaks about challenges and risks in the cybersecurity realm, and as a leader in this field, we help solve related problems across the Middle East and Africa.
“Bryan is a world leader and an idol for many people. He has achieved a lot and carries an impressive reputation. We always look to learn from thought leaders like him.”
According to Walia, we can expect to see even more automation in 2021. He explained, “As we step into the New Year, we are anticipating deeper challenges around phishing, targeted attacks and social engineering. We are gearing up to fight and plan ahead for these challenges.”
Walia also emphasised on the importance of events such as GISEC and said it is a great platform to showcase the firm’s portfolio of innovative solutions to regional customers.
“We look forward to working closely with our customers to solve cybersecurity challenges together,” he added. “Going forward, the market can expect to see the same high level of support from Spire and we will continue to focus on bringing new and innovative technologies to the region.”
